To achieve this our key tips are:
- Work with your preferred Reseller’s Solutions Team to thoroughly scope the project including all servers, storage, switches and other hardware for the solution. Capture this design in a single, accurate and complete Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Where there is sufficient volume of hardware, go through the formal bid registration process to maximise any available discounts
- Where appropriate, ensure each vendor understands the other options being considered to maximise any ‘competitive tension’
- Get creative and be open to negotiating any ‘sweeteners’ the Vendor may be willing to build in to the deal such as additional hardware, licencing, professional services or training for low or no additional cost
- Ensure all offerings are clearly documented and agreed before proceeding to avoid any issues later
