Attn: HPE users – A quick reminder of the 40K hours bug that will cause a critical failure if not patched in time.
Storage platforms affected include HPE ProLiant, Synergy, Apollo 4200, Synergy, D3000 and StoreEasy 1000.
40,000 hours is equivalent to 4 years and 206 hours so if you have equipment approaching this age you should take action ASAP.
We’ve already seen one customer lose a whole array and have to replace a full set of SSDs.
This bug was announced by HPE in March 2020 and, whilst similar in nature, is separate from the 32,768 hours bug announced in November last year.
