Following on from our earlier post highlighting how many businesses were finding  the cloud more expensive than expected, CRN have posted this feature explaining further reasons as to why Australian businesses end up leaving the cloud.

Whilst ‘bill shock’ is still the most prominent issue, there are also a number of other reasons – some of which may be of a surprise. They include:

  1. High data retrieval costs
  2. Network constraints
  3. Poor application performance
  4. Wrong architecture

The article cautions against going ‘all-in’ with the cloud and instead suggests operating a ‘hybrid cloud’ – merging a known working system with a cloud environment.
