Providing reliable and consistent WiFi connectivity is a minimum standard. Wi-Fi congestion and drop outs are a constant challenge for all Network Administrators. Aruba have released their latest product addressing these challenges in the 510 Wireless Access Point. The 510 meets the new Wireless Networking standard, 802.11ax, also known as Wi-Fi 6.

This new access point introduces Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) (enhanced multi-user feature) and Multi-user Multiple Input/Multiple Output (MU MIMO) enables many devices to send and receive data packets simultaneously using a dedicated channel per device. This reduces congestion and competition of multiple devices on the same network.

Other features of the 510 include Target Wait Time and IoT Handling. Key outputs of this include a reduction in energy usage and a 20 MHz-only channel on a 2.4 or 5 GHz Band. WPA3 and Enhanced Open security standards allow for stronger encryption and simpler configurations, it also makes the access points the first to be WFA certified. Bluetooth 5 is also integrated.

To support these new access points comes the Aruba 2930M Series access switches. These switches are ideal for new 802.11ax WiFi systems and are a requirement for certain high-end 802.11ax access points. Other benefits of the 2930M include high performance stacking and multi-gigabit Ethernet.
