RAD ASMi-52L/E1/4W E1 4-Wire SHDSL Modem / Multiplexer

The ASMi-52L/E1/4W is a compact SHDSL modem designed to transport structured or unstructured E1 traffic over two copper pairs using 4-wire SHDSL transmission. It enables higher throughput and extended reach compared to 2-wire models, making it suitable for defence networks, utilities, transport infrastructure, industrial sites and campus environments.

By utilising dual-pair SHDSL technology, the unit delivers improved symmetrical bandwidth while maintaining stable E1 clock integrity. It supports full E1 (2.048 Mbps) transmission and provides flexible timing options for applications that depend on reliable synchronisation.

This model is ideal where additional copper pairs are available and enhanced performance is required without deploying fibre infrastructure.

Key Capabilities

  • E1 interface (G.703 / G.704 compliant)

  • 4-wire SHDSL transmission (two copper pairs)

  • Higher symmetrical bandwidth compared to 2-wire variants

  • Structured and unstructured E1 support

  • Configurable clock modes (internal, loop, or recovered)

  • Local and remote loopback diagnostics

  • Compact standalone deployment
